A Top-Tier EURUS: BOSS Guitar Synthesis with Japanese Luthiery
Born from over 40 years of BOSS research on synthesis applied to guitar, the EURUS GS-1 positions itself as a flagship model for guitarists who want to expand their palette without changing their playing habits. Its balanced Offset design, Japanese craftsmanship, and Gotoh components make it a reliable instrument, equally at ease on stage or in production, with a "plug and play" approach on the synth side thanks to the 6 stored sounds.
For Whom and Which Styles?
The BOSS EURUS GS-1 is primarily aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a versatile electric guitar as well as an immediate sound creation tool. Pop, rock, indie, funk, modern metal, ambient, electro, film music: the two independent outputs allow clean routing (guitar amp on one side, DI or dedicated effects chain for the synth on the other), ideal for live performance as well as home studio.
Sound
On the guitar side, the combination of alder body and maple neck delivers a clear attack, balanced mids, and very articulate response, while the Indian rosewood fingerboard adds a touch of warmth and comfortable feel. The two custom EURUS humbuckers cover a wide spectrum, from precise cleans to tight overdrives, with a 5-position selector including two positions with single-coil type character (split voicing). The Gotoh 510 two-point tremolo, combined with locking tuners, promotes tuning stability and smooth vibrato action.
On the synth side, the BOSS polyphonic engine is designed to respect usual playing techniques, offering a natural feel and fast response. Sounds are shaped via SYNTH CTL and deeply customized with the Bluetooth "GS-1 Editor" app (timbre, resonance, and assignments), allowing transitions from wide pads to expressive leads or more percussive textures.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To stay close to the original setup, a 009-042 electric string set is perfectly suited. To power the synth section without batteries, a BOSS PSA series power adapter is recommended. If you want to control parameters in real time, the BOSS EV-1-WL wireless expression pedal is designed for the Bluetooth ecosystem. Finally, two quality 6.35 mm jack cables allow simultaneous use of the guitar and synth outputs.

Questions frequently asked
Boss EURUS GS-1: Can the guitar and synth sounds be separated?
Two independent 6.35 mm jack outputs are provided: OUTPUT for the guitar and SYNTH OUT for the synth. A guitar amp and a dedicated synth rig can thus be powered separately.
How many synth sounds are available on the EURUS GS-1?
The BOSS polyphonic synthesis engine offers 6 selectable memories, with editing of tones, resonance, and assignments via the GS-1 Editor app over Bluetooth.
How is the synth section of this guitar powered?
The synth section operates with 4 AA (LR6) batteries or an optional BOSS PSA power adapter. The battery life is approximately 9 hours with alkaline batteries. This duration varies depending on usage conditions.
What neck does the Boss EURUS GS-1 have?
The bolt-on maple neck features a C profile, a 648 mm scale length, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard. Its compound radius from 12 to 16 inches and 24 Medium Jumbo frets facilitate playing along the entire neck.
Does the EURUS GS-1 vibrato hold tuning?
The Gotoh 510T-FE1 bridge is a two-point tremolo with a 37 mm block. Gotoh SG381 locking tuners, combined with the bone nut, contribute to tuning stability.
