A Concentrate of "GT" DNA in a Portable Format
The Pocket GT carries the spirit of BOSS's GT series processors: offering complete amp and effect sounds, ready to play, with deep enough editing to craft a personal tone. It shares the same sound engine as the GT-1, making it an ideal gateway if you enjoy creating detailed patches and want a familiar editing logic, while benefiting from a much more discreet format for daily practice.
A Tool Designed for Progress (Beginner to Advanced)
Whether you're learning songs, working on your licks, or taking online lessons, the Pocket GT stands out with its "portable learning studio" approach: you launch a video, isolate a difficult passage using markers and loops, then adapt your sound to the context (clean, crunch, high-gain, delay for the solo, etc.). This is especially relevant for beginner and intermediate guitarists who want to structure their practice, as well as for advanced musicians seeking a minimal setup with headphones, in the dressing room, on the go, or between soundchecks.
Functions and Controls: Practicality, Advanced Editing, and Connectivity
The heart of the system relies on the BOSS Tone Studio app, which combines a YouTube browser, advanced editing tools, and smart patch management. You can create video playlists, place A/B markers to loop sections, then assign user memories to these markers so the Pocket GT automatically changes sounds at the right moment. On the hardware side, physical controls allow quick navigation between memories, adjustment of essential parameters (gain level, effect level), control of audio/video playback, and activation of the tuner. The Pocket GT also includes a Center Cancel function to reduce solo guitar or vocals depending on the recordings, useful for positioning yourself in the mix and playing "on top."
Sound
The Pocket GT aims for a modern and versatile sound reproduction: clear and articulate cleans, dynamic crunches that respond to attack, and denser saturations for rock and high-gain styles. Modulations, delays, and reverbs allow switching from a "dry" and precise playing style to broader textures for ambient, pop-rock, or singing leads. The feel remains direct, ideal for headphone use to work on intonation, rhythm, and consistency, while maintaining a rich enough sonic palette to inspire new ideas.
