A pedal designed for singer-guitarists, between harmony and vocal production
The VE-2 was designed to meet a very concrete need: to add depth to live singing without relying on a backing vocalist or complex programming. Its "intelligent" approach to harmonization allows for realistic and musical voices in real time, while maintaining straightforward use, ideal when singing and playing simultaneously.
For whom and in what contexts does the VE-2 make a difference?
This pedal is aimed both at beginner singers who want a clean sound immediately and at experienced musicians looking for a compact live solution. It is particularly suited for pop, folk, rock, worship, and chanson styles, wherever vocal harmonies strengthen the choruses. On a singer-guitarist's pedalboard, in rehearsal, on small stages, or recording via USB, the VE-2 brings a real "plus" without complicating the setup.
Key Features: harmonies, memories, and complete connectivity
The HARMONY section offers 24 harmony effects (12 types, each with a variation), operating based on guitar chords, the chosen key, or their combination via hybrid mode. Added to this are ECHO effects (reverb and delay) and ENHANCE to polish the tone and stabilize pitch. The 3 memory slots allow chaining several atmospheres (verse/chorus/solo) without losing track. Finally, the USB audio interface simplifies recording on a computer: handy for quickly demoing with a vocal sound already processed.
Sound
The VE-2 aims for a modern and immediately usable aesthetic: clear harmonies, clean and enveloping reverb/delay, and an ENHANCE processing that puts the voice "up front" in the mix without making it artificial. The dynamics remain pleasant, with a responsive reaction that follows vocal nuances and attack well. In acoustic settings, it helps fill the space; in a band, it strengthens choruses with coherent harmonic placement thanks to chord tracking.

Questions frequently asked
How does the Boss VE-2 create vocal harmonies using a guitar?
The 24 harmony effects are based on 12 types, each with a variation. Tracking can rely on chords detected at the GUITAR input, on a selected key, or on the hybrid mode that combines both methods.
Can a phantom-powered microphone be connected?
The balanced XLR mic input provides 46 V phantom power, with a maximum current of 10 mA.
Can the VE-2 record vocals to a computer via USB?
The USB type B port allows use as an audio interface for recording on a computer. The vocal signal can thus be captured with the HARMONY, ECHO, and ENHANCE effects applied.
What power supply is required for this pedal?
The PSA power adapter is not included. Operation is also possible with 4 AA batteries, not supplied. A DC IN jack is available for external power.
How many settings can be saved on the pedal?
Three memories allow recalling distinct settings, for example between verse and chorus. A dedicated 6.35 mm jack for MEMORY INC is also provided.
