A Tool Designed for the Modern Singer-Songwriter

The Play Acoustic was designed as the natural companion for musicians who sing while accompanying themselves on guitar: a single floor unit with everything needed to transition from an intimate atmosphere to a broad, spectacular chorus. The central idea is simple: make the voice and guitar work together, so that harmonies, effects, and overall balance remain consistent from one song to the next, even when the set flows continuously.

Rather than stacking treatments, the Play Acoustic focuses on a "concert" approach: easy-to-recall presets, quick navigation, and outputs adapted to the real needs of a front of house. The result: less stress, more consistency, and a sound that "just fits" right from the soundcheck.

Who It's For and Which Styles the Play Acoustic Excels In

This multi-effects unit is primarily aimed at singer-songwriters, singer-guitarists, acoustic duos, and café-concert musicians who want a professional sound without multiplying boxes. It also suits guitarists who sing in a band and want to secure their backing vocals on certain parts while keeping a clean and controlled acoustic guitar sound.

In terms of styles, it covers acoustic pop and folk as well as unplugged rock, chanson, worship, and even more modern textures with wide delays, doubling, and creative effects. In the studio, it can serve as a quick idea and pre-production tool; live, it becomes a true command center for your acoustic pedalboard.

Key Features: Harmonies, Intelligent Processing, and Stage Connectivity

On the vocal side, you can go from natural (short reverb, discreet backing vocals) to much more pronounced effects: wide delays, thick doubling, modulations, and even more assertive pitch correction effects. Harmonies are at the heart of the experience: the Play Acoustic automatically identifies chords played on the guitar input and generates additional voices that are accurate and in rhythm, without you having to program each song note by note.

The Adaptive Tone function acts like a "personal sound engineer": it automatically adjusts compression, equalization, de-essing, and gating to maintain a clear and stable voice from song to song. This is especially useful when the microphone, singing distance, or intensity varies during a concert.

For the guitar, the processing remains respectful of the acoustic dynamics. Guitar effects (notably reverb and chorus) are designed to embellish without weighing down. The dedicated acoustic highlight is BodyRez: an algorithm combining filters and compression to reduce the sometimes "nasal" character of piezo pickups (under-saddle microphone) and restore the sensation of body and wood. You adjust the effect according to your instrument and sound system.

In practice, navigation is made for live use: preset changes, direct access to VOCAL FX and GUITAR FX sections, and the ability to build a personal library via the FAVORITE function to quickly recall a set list. The LCD screen facilitates reading essential information on stage.

The Sound

The Play Acoustic aims for a musical and flattering signature: the voice gains presence and stability without a "crushing" processed feel when Adaptive Tone is well adjusted. Harmonies are designed to remain natural, with more realistic transitions thanks to portamento and humanization settings, avoiding the "frozen choir" effect at phrase endings.

On guitar, BodyRez provides a very appreciable extra realism with piezo pickups by reducing harshness in the upper midrange and restoring roundness. Reverbs and choruses integrate easily into an acoustic mix: wide enough to carry a chorus, but defined enough to preserve the attack and grain of the strings, whether you play fingerstyle or with a pick.
