A San Dimas Pro-Mod Designed for Performance
The Pro-Mod Plus San Dimas Style 1 embodies Charvel's DNA: a performance-oriented "superstrat" with a sleek Scorched Earth look and optimized ergonomics. The "hand-shake" heel and recessed neck screws improve comfort on the highest frets, while the matching headstock highlights its premium aesthetic.
For Which Guitarist and Styles?
This Charvel is mainly aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a precise, fast electric guitar with stable tuning, especially when using the vibrato. It excels in rock, hard rock, metal, fusion, and all modern styles requiring tight palm mutes, fast solos, and harmonies. Thanks to coil combinations via the 5-position selector, it also covers clearer, more defined tones for funk/rock or clean arpeggios.
Sound
The alder body provides a very versatile balance: clean lows, present mids, and an articulate high end even when saturated. The ebony fingerboard enhances attack and precision, ideal for tight rhythms and cutting leads. On pickups, the Seymour Duncan JB at the bridge delivers biting mids and perfect output for heavy distortion, while the '59 at the neck offers a rounder, more open tone, very musical for solos and cleans. The electronics are stage-ready: Bourns low-friction volume pot for quick swells, and no-load tone to preserve clarity when fully open.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
The guitar comes with a Charvel Multi-Fit Gig Bag. It is factory-strung with Nickel Plated Steel 09-42 strings: you can keep this gauge to maintain the balance of feel and tuning stability with the Floyd Rose 1500.
