San Dimas: Charvel's DNA, Revisited in Pro-Mod Plus Version
The San Dimas is an iconic Charvel shape: a format designed for rock and metal playing, with "hot-rod" ergonomics and real effectiveness in live situations. This Pro-Mod Plus retains the direct and aggressive spirit of the line while adding performance-oriented details such as the caramelized maple neck, ebony fingerboard, Luminlay markers, and more versatile electronics thanks to the 5-position selector.
For Which Guitarist and Styles
This electric guitar is mainly aimed at intermediate to advanced players who want a precise and fast instrument, equally comfortable in tight rhythm playing and lead. It excels in modern rock, hard rock, metal, and fusion, while remaining credible in cleaner styles thanks to the coil combinations offered by the selector.
The Sound
The alder body provides a very versatile balance: present mids, good definition, and clean lows, ideal for articulate distortion. The Seymour Duncan pickup duo offers a true palette: the JB at the bridge delivers bite, attack, and excellent sustain for riffs and solos, while the '59 at the neck offers a rounder, more open, and dynamic tone. The 5-position selector goes beyond a simple HH setup, with combined positions that bring clarity, scoop, and precision. The hardtail bridge enhances stability and vibration transfer for a firm feel and immediate response.

Questions frequently asked
Is this Charvel guitar suitable for metal and hard rock?
The combination of the alder body and the Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 bridge pickup delivers attack and definition on distorted tones. The Seymour Duncan '59 SH-1N neck pickup provides a warmer tone for leads.
How does the 5-way selector switch work?
The switch offers full humbuckers in positions 1, 3, and 5: bridge, bridge + neck, then neck. Positions 2 and 4 combine specific coils of both pickups. These combinations produce clearer and more scooped tones than the full humbucker positions.
Does this San Dimas have a tremolo?
A fixed Charvel Hardtail bridge is installed, designed for tuning stability and vibration transfer.
What are the neck specifications?
Its caramelized maple neck features a thin D profile, a hand-applied satin urethane finish, and a four-screw recessed joint. The ebony fingerboard has 22 jumbo frets, a compound radius from 12 to 16 inches, and Luminlay side dots.
Is this version available for left-handed players?
This version is listed as not available in left-hand configuration. The Scorched Earth color is paired with black hardware and a satin finish.
