A Modern So-Cal in the "Superstrat" Spirit of the Pro-Mod Line

The Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 1 HH FR M embraces the performance-oriented guitar codes: alder solid body, fast neck, and high-output electronics. Within the Pro-Mod range, it stands as an uncompromising So-Cal, designed to chain technical licks and heavy rhythms while maintaining a very "plug-and-play" ergonomics thanks to accessible controls and stage-ready hardware.

For Which Guitarist and Styles?

This Charvel is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a responsive and stable electric guitar, especially suited for modern rock, hard rock, metal, shred, and all styles alternating tight riffs, palm mutes, and expressive solos. The Floyd Rose 1000 Series is particularly suitable for those who use the tremolo intensively (dives, wide vibratos), while the coil-splitting feature also opens the door to snappier tones for more open rhythmic parts.

Sound Characteristics

The alder body provides an effective balance: firm lows, present mids, and clear highs, ideal for maintaining definition under heavy saturation. The maple neck and fretboard add attack and precision, enhancing the immediate response feel, especially appreciated in fast playing.

Regarding pickups, the Seymour Duncan Distortion TB-6 at the bridge delivers a high output level with a sharp attack and harmonics that are easy to bring out, while the SH-6N neck pickup remains warm and powerful for leads and thicker riffs. The push/pull volume allows coil splitting for thinner, edgier tones. Finally, the no-load tone control behaves like a classic control from 1 to 9, then removes itself from the circuit at position 10 for a more direct signal, perfect for retaining maximum bite and clarity.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain playing balance and tuning stability with the Floyd Rose, favor nickel-plated steel electric string sets in .009-.042 gauge, identical to the original setup.
