A San Dimas Pro-Mod: The Charvel Spirit, Between Tradition and Performance
The Style 1 FR San Dimas HH Pro-Mod follows the lineage of "superstrat"-inspired guitars: a classic design revisited with choices firmly oriented towards performance. Here, everything is designed to get straight to the point: fast playability, efficient electronics, and a tremolo built to handle the most demanding techniques, all supported by a Relic aesthetic that recalls instruments marked by years on stage.
For Whom and Which Styles?
This guitar is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want a lively and reliable electric for pick playing, strong bends, and expressive solos. It excels in hard rock, metal, modern rock, and fusion, and can also adapt to more nuanced styles thanks to the coil split (push/pull) that expands the palette towards clearer and more "single-coil" sounds.
The Sound
The alder body provides a very versatile balance: firm lows, present mids, and clear highs, perfect for maintaining definition under heavy saturation. The Seymour Duncan Custom SH-6N (neck) and SH-6B (bridge) humbuckers deliver a powerful, tight sound rich in harmonics, ideal for punchy palm mutes, cutting leads, and rhythms that need to remain clear. The push/pull volume allows coil splitting for airier textures, while the 3-position selector simplifies access to essential stage tones. Finally, the Floyd Rose 1000 encourages expressive playing with vibrato and extreme effects, while promoting stable sustain and tuning stability suited for performances.
