A "Medium Scale" Standard Designed for Most Violas
The "Medium Scale" format corresponds to a very common measurement, making it a practical reference for many modern violas. Combined with Medium tension, this setup aims for a familiar playing feel and natural adaptation to the instrument's usual setup, without requiring an approach that is too "stiff" or too flexible.
Intended Use and Target Musician
These strings are intended for beginner to intermediate violists, as well as musicians seeking a versatile option for rehearsals, orchestra, chamber music, or daily practice. Medium tension is particularly suitable if you want a balanced response and left-hand comfort without sacrificing tuning stability.
Sound Characteristics
On a Medium Scale viola, Medium tension generally promotes a clear attack, consistent response, and a sense of control over dynamics. The airtight packaging also helps keep the strings "cleaner" at installation, contributing to good stability from the very first hours of playing.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To extend string life, a soft cloth for wiping the strings after each session is always recommended, as well as a tuner to stabilize tuning during setup.
