A Signature Lapsteel Designed for Stage and Studio
Developed around the demands of one of the most recognized names in pedal steel and lapsteel, the Alliance Lapsteel Signature Paul Franklin stands out with its aesthetic and functional choices: a striking transparent red finish, a transparent Plexi fretboard with back printing for excellent readability, and a specifically requested "capo-delete." The result: a premium instrument crafted for precision and consistency, equally comfortable in recording and live settings.
For What Type of Musician and Styles?
This lapsteel is especially suited for intermediate to expert guitarists, or any musician wishing to approach lapsteel with a high-end, inspiring instrument. It excels in country, americana, blues, rock, pop, ambient, and film music, wherever slide playing, modulated chords, and singing melodic lines need to remain perfectly controlled.
The Sound
In bridge position, the Duesenberg GrandVintage Humbucker delivers a sharp, balanced, and dense sound, with great sustain and precise attack: ideal for cutting through a mix and maintaining definition on bends. In neck position, the Duesenberg SingleTwin Domino (noise-cancelling P90 type) favors softer, warmer textures, perfect for expressive melodies and pads. The 3-position selector allows quick switching between registers, while the tone control equipped with a speed-pot (short throw) facilitates fine variations at your fingertips to sculpt the timbre during play.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
This lapsteel comes with a suitable Custom Line Case and all necessary Allen keys. The original strings fitted are Duesenberg Custom 016/056 (016-018-026-036-046-056), a consistent gauge for tuning stability and slide response.
