A 3/4 Size ST Designed to Start in the Spirit of the Great Classics
With its lines inspired by the "S-type" guitars that have marked music history since the 1950s, the ST100 3/4 adopts the codes that immediately appeal: double cutaway for easy access to the high frets, three single-coil pickups, and a bridge/vibrato set with an iconic look. Eko offers this silhouette here in a more compact, lightweight, and ergonomic version, perfectly suited for a serious first instrument.
For Whom, and For Which Styles?
The Eko ST100 3/4 is primarily aimed at beginners, especially children aged 8 to 12 thanks to its shorter scale length. Its simple and intuitive approach allows you to tackle the basics (chords, riffs, first melodies) while remaining versatile enough to cover pop, rock, funk, blues, and even more aggressive genres with distortion.
The Sound
The poplar body contributes to a pleasant balance and good daily durability, while the maple neck provides precision and attack. The laurel fingerboard rounds out the feel under the fingers and slightly softens the naturally bright character of maple. On the electronics side, the 3 single-coil pickups offer defined clean tones, articulate funk rhythms, and dynamic crunch. The 3-position selector switch keeps it straightforward (neck, middle, or bridge pickup) with well-defined tonal colors, and the 1 volume + 2 tone controls help quickly tame balance and brightness. The vibrato adds an expressive dimension to give depth to chords and sustained notes.
