Epiphone ES-335 Cherry IBGO

Essential Information About the Epiphone ES-335 Cherry Original Inspired by Gibson Custom Guitar

• True ES-335 Spirit: a semi-hollow inspired by the iconic model introduced in 1958, designed to capture the vintage tone and legendary versatility.

• Semi-hollow construction with maple center block: warmth and resonance, with generous sustain and better feedback control than a fully hollow body.

• Two Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers: a wide vintage range, from smooth jazz to edgy rock, driven by comprehensive electronics (2 volumes, 2 tones, 3-way selector).

• Set neck with rounded C profile: comfortable grip, ideal for rich chords as well as expressive leads.

An Accessible ES-335, in the "Original Inspired by Gibson Custom" Spirit

With the ES-335, Epiphone offers a faithful interpretation of a classic electric guitar. The original model made history by offering a unique alternative between solid-body and hollow-body: more roundness and air in the sound, while maintaining stability, sustain, and control at high volume. This "Original Inspired by Gibson Custom" version adopts the aesthetic codes and DNA of the 335, with a decidedly vintage identity and excellent value for money to recapture that iconic tone.

For Which Guitarists and Styles

This Epiphone ES-335 is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking an expressive and versatile guitar, but it is also very suitable for a motivated beginner looking for a first "real" semi-hollow. Its natural playground includes blues, jazz, soul, classic rock, indie, and pop, with a great response to playing nuances (pick attack, fingerstyle, volume variations).

Sound

The semi-hollow recipe combines laminated maple sides, top, and back for precise attack and a well-defined high end, with a solid maple center block that enhances sustain and stabilizes performance at high volume. The result: a sound that is both warm and articulate, with the slight "halo" typical of semi-hollows. The Alnico Classic PRO pickups deliver a vintage humbucker tone, round lows, singing mids, and smooth highs; the full set of controls (2 volumes, 2 tones) allows fine sculpting of dynamics and transitions from velvety clean to expressive crunch, while maintaining definition.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To stay true to the original intent, opt for electric strings in gauge 10-46 (same as factory setup). A good quality 6.35 mm instrument jack cable and a standard strap will ideally complete the setup. If you want to protect the instrument, choose a hard case in ES-335 format (335-style semi-hollow).
