A Les Paul Custom Designed for Modern Playing, Signed by Matt Heafy

Designed in partnership with Matt Heafy (Trivium), the Les Paul Custom Origins follows the line of signature models aimed at stage and studio use, with a decidedly contemporary approach: optimized ergonomics, high-end electronics, and timeless "Custom" aesthetics. The result is an Epiphone built for modern tunings, precise riffs, and expressive leads, without sacrificing the massive and premium character of a Les Paul.

For Which Guitarists and Styles?

This electric guitar is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a reliable, powerful, and highly versatile instrument. It excels in metal, hard rock, prog, and all styles requiring dense and articulate distortion, but its clearer, single-coil-like modes also allow for clean parts, arpeggios, and more "hi-fi" textures in the studio.

The Sound

At the heart of the Matt Heafy Les Paul Custom Origins is a pair of Fishman Fluence pickups with custom voicing. The neck pickup, MKH Fluence Alnico, offers three settings: a modern, active, high-output Alnico humbucker; a clearer, smoother neck humbucker; and a single-coil mode with a glassy, airy tone. The bridge pickup, MKH Fluence Ceramic, delivers a modern, active, and cutting ceramic humbucker, plus a sharper, overwound single-coil mode ideal for emphasizing attack.

Voice selection is done via push/pull potentiometers (volume and tone), allowing quick switching between tonal colors without interrupting playing. The acoustic foundation is provided by a mahogany body with a maple top: mahogany adds density, sustain, and solid lows, while maple contributes definition and bite, especially appreciated with precise saturated tones.
