Essential Information About the Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Deep Cherry Sunburst Guitar
- Collaboration with Gibson Custom: the 1959 "Burst" aesthetics and feel, with a rare level of detail at this price point.
- Gibson Custombucker Pickups (Alnico 3): vintage tone, dynamic and rich in harmonics, perfect for "PAF" sounds.
- Premium Hand-Wired Electronics: CTS potentiometers and Paper-in-Oil Bumblebee-type capacitors for a musical tone response.
- Vintage Gloss Finish + Nickel Hardware: an authentic, elegant look without excessive relic, with a hard case included.
A 1959 Reissue Designed to Recapture the Spirit of the Legendary "Bursts"
The 1959 Les Paul Standard is one of the most sought-after guitars in history, renowned for its balance between comfort, sustain, and expressiveness. This Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue, developed in partnership with Gibson Custom, embraces the essential codes: "openbook" silhouette, meticulous markings and inlays, and a decidedly "vintage correct" approach. The Deep Cherry Sunburst finish and nickel hardware enhance this classic character, while the brown hard case with pink interior completes the "Inspired by Gibson Custom" experience.
Who Is It For, and What Styles?
This electric guitar is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want a 1959-style Les Paul with a true "old school" feel and high-end electronics. Its 59 Rounded Medium C neck profile is particularly suitable for those who prefer a full and stable grip. It excels in blues, rock, classic rock, hard rock, and jazz: from articulate crunch to thick leads, as well as round and singing cleans.
The Sound
The mahogany duo (body and neck) + maple top delivers the typical Les Paul blend: a warm and dense foundation, with attack and definition to cut through a mix. The two Gibson Custombucker pickups (with Alnico 3 magnets) provide a very touch-sensitive vintage character: rich low-mids, smooth highs, and excellent responsiveness to volume variations. The careful wiring (CTS potentiometers and Paper-in-Oil capacitors) makes the controls truly usable: you can clean up the sound with the volume or shape the brightness with the tone without losing musicality. The ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Historical Aluminium tailpiece contribute to the quick response feel and sustain, ideal for held notes and expressive bends.
