Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
For over 60 years, Evans has developed drumheads designed to meet the practical needs of drummers. The dB One series follows this philosophy, with an approach dedicated to low-volume practice without sacrificing the cues and feel of an acoustic snare drum.
Who This Drum/Instrument Is For
This drumhead is aimed at beginner to advanced drummers who want to practice in apartments, studios, or dressing rooms with controlled volume levels. It is especially suitable for snare drum exercises, dynamic work, and styles requiring precision and control (rock, pop, funk, fusion).
Features and Innovations
Its double-ply design combines a top ply made of Evans ShockWeave Mesh and Snare Sim technology, which transforms the energy of the strike into sound vibrations close to those of an acoustic snare. You can keep or remove the snare wires to adjust response and eliminate unwanted vibrations.
Sound
The mesh provides a sharp attack and rebound similar to a traditional drumhead, with greatly reduced volume. Snare Sim technology enhances the "alive" snare feel by reproducing some of the typical buzz and "crack," while maintaining high control at low volume.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Evans dB One 13-inch head suitable for a 13-inch snare drum?
Its 13-inch diameter is designed for a snare drum of the same size.
What sound level does this snare mesh head provide?
The ShockWeave Mesh finish greatly reduces the striking volume. It maintains a clear attack and rebound similar to a traditional head, which facilitates quiet practice.
How does the Snare Sim technology work?
The Snare Sim technology converts hit energy into sound vibrations that mimic the behavior of a snare wire. Part of the buzz and crackle is thus reproduced. The snare wires can be kept or removed to adjust response and reduce unwanted vibrations.
Is it possible to keep the snare wires with a dB One head?
It is possible to keep or remove the snare wires with this double-ply head, depending on the desired response.
Does the Level 360 design make tuning easier?
The Level 360 design promotes the seating and tuning of the head. The double-ply structure combines a top ply of ShockWeave Mesh with Snare Sim technology.
