Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
Thin resonant heads are a standard appreciated by drummers seeking quick response and precise drum shell articulation. At 7 mil, the approach focuses on "control and clarity," particularly relevant when aiming to limit overly long resonances without muffling the natural character of the tom or snare drum.
Who This Drum/Instrument Is For
This resonant head suits beginner to advanced drummers who want a simple and effective setup. It adapts very well to rock, pop, funk, gospel, and live contexts where definition and projection take precedence over very long sustain.
Features and Innovations
Thanks to its thin construction, it shortens the sustain and brightens the tone, especially when paired with a single or double-ply batter head. The result is cleaner, more focused, and easier to place in a stage mix.
Sound Characteristics
The 7 mil thinness promotes a quick response and better-controlled resonance while preserving the musicality of the drum shell. The clear finish highlights the high harmonics, delivering a brighter tone, with moderate sustain and increased projection.

Is the Evans TT13GR compatible with a 13-inch tom?
Its 13-inch diameter is designed for a tom of the same size. This drumhead is made to be used as a resonant head.
What is the thickness of this resonant head?
The single-ply construction has a thickness of 7 mil. This thinness promotes a quick response from the shell.
What sound does a transparent 7 mil resonant head produce?
The transparent finish highlights the high harmonics and brightens the tone. The sustain remains moderate, with increased projection.
Which batter head should be paired with this resonant head?
This model can be paired with either a single-ply or double-ply batter head. The combination helps achieve a clearer and more focused sound.
Is this Evans head suitable for rock and live performance?
