A Striped Series in the tradition of the boldest stage guitars
The EVH Striped Series SHAPES pays tribute to the radical, instantly recognizable aesthetic of the instruments that have shaped rock history. Its black-and-white painted design makes an uncompromising visual statement, in the spirit of the guitars used by Eddie Van Halen in the early 1980s, particularly during the "Fair Warning" album era. However, it is not limited to a vintage-inspired look: this electric guitar is designed as a true modern stage toolârobust, precise and ready to respond to the most physically demanding techniques.
Within the Striped Series range, this model focuses on a deliberately streamlined configuration. A single bridge pickup, a single volume control and no selector switch: everything is geared towards impact, responsiveness and an immediate connection between the guitaristâs playing and the amplifier. Its satin finishing also allows the raw, distinctive character of its mahogany body to breathe.
An electric guitar built for rock, hard rock and highly distinctive riffs
This EVH is aimed at intermediate, advanced and professional guitarists looking for a high-performance guitar for energetic rock, hard rock, classic metal, shred and expressive solos. Its EVH Modified "C" neck profile offers a natural feel, comfortable enough for powerful rhythm playing while remaining smooth enough for fast passages.
The 12" to 16" / 304.8 to 406.4 mm compound-radius maple key gradually becomes flatter as you move towards the higher frets. This design makes wide bends, legato, tapping and technical passages easier without sacrificing the comfort of chords in the lower positions. The integrated D-Tuna on the bridge is particularly useful for guitarists switching between standard tuning and Drop D during the same song.
A dense, precise tonal range rich in harmonics
The mahogany body provides the tonal foundation of this electric guitar. This wood delivers dense mids, a generous low-end response and natural sustain that is particularly well suited to powerful riffs. Combined with the quarter-sawn maple bolt-on neck, it retains a sharp attack and clear definition, even with plenty of gain.
Mounted directly into the body, the EVH Wolfgang bridge humbucker delivers a high output level, abundant harmonic richness and a precise response under the pick. It emphasizes tight attacks, punchy palm mutes and artificial harmonics while retaining enough body for singing solos. The low-friction EVH Bourns 500K volume potentiometer lets you clean up the sound quickly or adjust the gain by hand, with a smooth and responsive sweep.
The locking Floyd Rose tremolo completes this sonic and technical identity. Thanks to the locking nut and EVH tuners, it allows dive bombs, flutter and wide vibrato while ensuring excellent tuning stability. The absence of a neck pickup or selector switch reinforces the instrumentâs direct character: here, every note is designed to stand out with authority.
Recommended compatible accessories
The guitar comes with an EVH Striped Series gig bag, ideal for daily transportation and rehearsals. To preserve the original performance of the tremolo and locking nut, it is recommended to use .009-.042 gauge electric guitar strings. An optional hard case compatible with this model may also be considered for touring, frequent transportation or more secure storage.
