The EVH Wolfgang Special TOM is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a fast, stable, and performance-oriented electric guitar. It excels in rock, hard rock, and metal, notably thanks to its humbuckers and its punchy attack. The compound radius and 22 jumbo frets facilitate bends, legato, and tight rhythms, while remaining comfortable for more "classic rock" playing.

The Sound

The basswood Wolfgang-style body, with a carved archtop and single-ply binding, offers a balanced response: present mids, clear attack, and a homogeneous output that handles saturation very well. The EVH Wolfgang Humbucking pickups in Direct Mount configuration enhance the immediacy sensation (less mechanical loss), delivering a dense, precise sound tailored for gain. On the control side, the EVH Bourns Low Friction volume potentiometer with treble bleed circuit helps maintain clarity when lowering the volume, while the EVH Bourns High Friction tone potentiometer allows stable settings, perfect for the stage.
