Ideal for intermediate to advanced bassists, the Vintera III Early '60s Jazz Bass shines in funk, soul, jazz, rock, and indie. The narrow 38.1 mm / 1.5" nut width facilitates fast runs and playing with fingers or pick, while the vintage radius provides a familiar and highly musical feel.

The Sound

The two early '60s single-coil pickups deliver the expected balance of a Jazz Bass: woody and precise lows on the neck side, biting attack and definition on the bridge side. The passive wiring with concentric controls (volume and tone for each pickup) allows fine-tuning of the spectrum, from warm growl to sharp snap. The alder/maple/rosewood combination, threaded saddle bridge, and 4-screw neck plate ensure good projection, natural sustain, and responsive dynamics.

To preserve the instrument's character, choose 4-string long scale 34" nickel-plated steel bass strings with a .045-.105 gauge (like the original set).
