Spotted by Michael Landau at age 16, the "Coma" Strat was repainted, rewired, and reshaped throughout an extraordinary studio career. This Custom Shop reissue captures the current state of his signature instrument: aged red finish, cavities routed for Floyd Rose, engraved heel plate, and a design crafted for the demands of both stage and studio.

Designed for intermediate to professional guitarists, it excels in pop, rock, blues, funk, fusion, and session work. The HSS configuration and vintage playability allow seamless transitions from silky arpeggios to percussive rhythms and sustained solos without changing instruments.
Sound Characteristics
The ML Ultra Noiseless pickups reproduce Strat DNA without unwanted noise: sparkling highs, punchy mids, and full lows. At the bridge, the Wide Range CuNiFe delivers breadth, density, and a slight musical compression, perfect for singing leads and saturated riffs. The 5-position selector switch, master volume, and two tone controls (one dedicated to the humbucker) refine every nuance. The alder body, maple neck with slab rosewood fingerboard, and vintage vibrato with steel block provide attack, sustain, and highly expressive dynamics.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
Choose nickel-plated strings .010-.046 (such as Fender 250R) to maintain original balance and tension. A curved capo suited to the 7.25" radius fits perfectly.
