American Ultra II: The Stratocaster Designed for Stage and Studio

The American Ultra II series embodies a performance-oriented Stratocaster: luthiery and ergonomic choices designed for fatigue-free playing sessions while maintaining Fender's sonic identity. The refined finish, modern adjustments, and advanced electronics make it a premium workhorse guitar, tailored for demanding musicians seeking a versatile, reliable, and precise Strat.

For Which Guitarists and Styles?

This Fender primarily targets intermediate to expert guitarists looking for fast playability and great versatility. Thanks to the SSS configuration, it excels in pop, funk, blues, rock, and indie, while remaining highly relevant in the studio when clear, articulate tones, punchy crunch, and expressive leads without annoying hum are desired.

The Sound

The selected alder body provides the typical Stratocaster balance: present mids, firm lows, and clear highs with a sharp attack. The three Ultra II Noiseless Vintage Strat pickups retain the expected snap and definition of a Strat while minimizing noise, ideal when using pedals, moderate gain, or electrically noisy environments. The 5-position selector covers classic tones (positions 2 and 4 scooped and bright), while the S-1 switch adds the neck pickup in positions 1 and 2 to expand the palette, especially to thicken a too-sharp bridge pickup or achieve fuller combinations. The 2-point vibrato and locking tuners enhance tuning stability, a real plus for bends and vibrato use.
