A Player II Stratocaster: Fender DNA Optimized for Modern Playing
The Player II Stratocaster incorporates the iconic elements that made the Stratocaster legendary and adds contemporary choices focused on comfort and efficiency. The neck is designed for effortless chord changes, riffs, and bends, while the SSS electronics and 5-position selector maintain the "Swiss Army knife" spirit that has made the Strat indispensable on countless stages.
Who Is It For, and What Styles?
This electric guitar is suitable for both demanding beginners and intermediate players seeking a reliable and versatile instrument. With its precise clean tones, characteristic in-between positions, and a sharper bridge pickup, it feels at home in pop, funk, blues, rock, indie, worship, and even more modern genres when paired with a good overdrive pedal.
Sound Characteristics
Featuring an alder body, the Player II Stratocaster offers a very "Strat" balanced tone: firm lows, clear mids, and a well-defined high end. The trio of Player Series Alnico V pickups delivers bright and detailed highs, musical mids, and a crisp attack ideal for percussive rhythms as well as melodies. The wiring includes 1 volume and 2 tone controls (Tone 1 for neck/middle pickups, Tone 2 for bridge pickup), allowing you to soften the high end or, conversely, retain all the necessary bite. The 2-point synchronized tremolo combined with bent steel saddles provides a smooth feel under the right hand while maintaining good resonance and convincing sustain for this format.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To preserve the original feel, choose a set of electric strings in gauge .009-.042 (such as the indicated Fender USA 250L). A guitar strap with standard ends will also fit the standard strap buttons.
