The spirit of the 1957 Stratocaster, reimagined for today’s stage
The Fender American Professional Classic Stratocaster continues the legacy of the great Stratocasters of the 1950s, drawing on their clear, dynamic and instantly recognizable tonal identity. Its Coastline '57 pickups are inspired by this pioneering era, known for its broad, snappy sounds that respond dynamically to playing attack.
However, this version is not limited to a nostalgic reissue. It combines the visual appeal of Fender custom-aged finishes with features designed for today’s musicians: a modern neck, Medium Jumbo frets, staggered tuners and quiet electronics. It is therefore an ideal choice for guitarists looking for a professional Stratocaster that remains faithful to the original spirit while being more practical for everyday use.
A versatile Stratocaster for demanding guitarists
This electric guitar is primarily aimed at intermediate, experienced and professional musicians who want an expressive, comfortable instrument that is immediately ready for rehearsals, studio sessions and live performances. Its Stratocaster ergonomics, Modern "C" neck profile and natural access to the 22 frets make for a smooth playing experience, whether playing rhythm parts or solos.
The SSS configuration is particularly well suited to blues, classic rock, pop, funk, soul, country and indie styles. The intermediate positions on the 5-way selector provide the scooped, airy and percussive tones that have made the Stratocaster famous. The bridge pickup delivers extra bite for riffs and leads, while the neck pickup favors rounder, more singing textures.
Vintage clarity, single-coil dynamics and controlled silence
The alder body contributes to this Stratocaster’s tonal balance. This wood is appreciated for its even response, with tight lows, present mids and open highs. Combined with the maple neck and rosewood key, it contributes to a precise attack and a sufficiently balanced register to suit a wide range of amplifiers and effects pedals.
The three Coastline '57 Stratocaster single-coil pickups deliver the lively, nuanced character expected from a Strat: well-defined notes, excellent chord separation and outstanding sensitivity to playing dynamics. The 5-way selector provides access to the bridge pickup alone, the bridge-and-middle combination, the middle-and-neck combination, the middle pickup alone and the neck pickup alone. This tonal palette makes it easy to move from an incisive sound to a softer color without changing the amplifier settings.
The Fender Silent System is one of this model’s major strengths. This passive system, which requires no battery, reduces the unwanted noise typically associated with single-coil pickups while preserving their character. The guitar therefore retains the sparkle, definition and transparency of a true single-coil sound, with welcome comfort in environments affected by electrical interference.
The electronics include a master volume, a tone control dedicated to the neck and middle pickups, as well as a second tone control equipped with the Greasebucket circuit for the bridge pickup. This circuit allows you to soften the highs without unnecessarily thickening the low end, helping to preserve definition when reducing the tone control. The vintage-style synchronized 6-saddle tremolo completes the package with smooth modulation effects and a touch faithful to classic Stratocasters.
Recommended compatible accessories
The guitar comes with a Deluxe Gig Bag, suitable for everyday travel. For enhanced protection during frequent transportation, a hard case in Stratocaster or Telecaster format is recommended. It comes fitted as standard with .009-.042 gauge nickel-plated strings; keeping this gauge helps preserve the light touch and the setup intended for the instrument. An electric guitar strap, a tuner and a spare set of strings are also practical additions.
