What you need to know about the Fender Player II Stratocaster HSS Chameleon guitar

  • Versatile HSS configuration combining two Player Series Alnico V single-coil pickups with a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucker to cover a wide range of registers.
  • Modern " C " roasted maple neck, rosewood key with rolled edges and 22 medium jumbo frets for smooth, fast playing.
  • Contoured alder Stratocaster body: a timeless classic appreciated for its balance, comfort and dynamic response.
  • 2-point synchronized tremolo and ClassicGear tuners to enrich vibrato phrases while maintaining good tuning accuracy.

A Player II Stratocaster designed for today's guitarists

The Player II Stratocaster HSS retains the essential features of the Stratocaster: a solid-body design with comfortable curves, an immediately recognizable headstock and extended sonic versatility. This version stands out with a more contemporary approach, featuring a roasted maple neck, a key with rolled edges and particularly comprehensive HSS electronics.

Its Chameleon finishing gives it a striking visual presence on stage, while its equipment combines traditional Fender spirit with performance-oriented components. The Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucker installed in the bridge position notably delivers a more muscular character than that of a Stratocaster equipped with three single-coil pickups.

A versatile electric guitar, from the first riff to the most demanding stages

This Fender Player II Stratocaster HSS is aimed at intermediate guitarists and experienced musicians looking for an expressive, comfortable electric guitar capable of adapting to a wide range of settings. Its Modern " C " profile offers a natural playing feel, equally comfortable for open chords, fast solos and modern techniques.

It is particularly well suited to rock, blues, pop, funk, indie, moderate hard rock and fusion sounds. The two single-coil pickups retain the characteristic Stratocaster sparkle for articulate rhythm parts, while the bridge humbucker provides greater output, density and punch for overdriven riffs.

From Stratocaster sparkle to Pearly Gates humbucker power

The alder body provides a balanced tonal foundation, with clear highs, present mids and well-defined lows. Its contoured shape follows the musician's body and promotes comfortable playing during rehearsals, in the studio or on stage. The roasted maple neck contributes to the instrument's responsive feel, with precise attack and a smooth touch.

In the neck and middle positions, the Player Series Alnico V Strat pickups deliver bright, articulate and dynamic clean sounds. The neck position is suited to rounded melodies, warm arpeggios and bluesy tones, while the middle pickup provides a more balanced and percussive register. The in-between positions on the 5-way selector offer the scooped, crystalline and rhythmic textures associated with Stratocasters.

The Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates Trembucker at the bridge significantly broadens the possibilities. It delivers musical mids, firm lows and highs that are defined enough to retain clarity with distortion. The two tone controls allow the neck and middle pickups, then the bridge pickup, to be adjusted separately, making it easy to adapt the guitar to an amplifier, pedal or playing style.

The 2-point synchronized tremolo, complemented by bent steel saddles, allows you to add subtle vibrato, expressive dips and more pronounced effects. Fender ClassicGear tuners and the synthetic bone nut contribute to good tuning stability, particularly when the tremolo is used in a controlled manner.

Recommended compatible accessories

To preserve the original setup, this guitar can be fitted with a set of nickel-plated electric guitar strings in .009-.042 gauge, approximately .23-1.07 mm. A standard electric guitar strap is also suitable for the strap buttons installed on the instrument. For transport, choose a case or gig bag specifically designed for a Stratocaster-style electric guitar.
