The Essentials to Know About the Fender Player II Telecaster Guitar

  • Authentic Tele sound thanks to the two Player Series Alnico V single-coil pickups: brightness, twang, and definition guaranteed.

  • Modern playability with a "Modern C" profile neck, satin finish on the back, 9.5" / 241 mm radius fingerboard, rolled edges, and 22 medium jumbo frets.

  • Immediate versatility via the 3-position selector and Master Volume / Master Tone controls, from the smoothness of the neck pickup to the biting attack of the bridge pickup.

  • Stable and precise tuning thanks to the Tele 6-saddle steel bridge and Fender ClassicGear tuners.

A Telecaster Designed for Today's Standards

An absolute icon of electric guitars, the Telecaster remains a benchmark for its effective simplicity and unique tonal character. The Player II Telecaster retains this timeless design while adding stage-oriented improvements: a smoother neck, a modern radius, and hardware built to withstand gigs and rehearsals, all while preserving Fender's DNA.

Who Is It For, and In Which Styles?

This Fender is aimed at both serious beginners and intermediate to advanced guitarists looking for a reliable, expressive, and easy-to-set-up Tele. It excels in rock, blues, country, pop, funk, and indie: its clear attack and dynamics make it ideal for pick playing, fingerpicking, snappy rhythms, and leads that cut through the mix.

Tone

In this configuration, the alder body provides a very Fender-like balance: present mids, clear highs, and clean lows, helping the guitar stay precise even with effects or higher gain. The two Alnico V Tele single-coil pickups emphasize clarity and attack response: the neck pickup offers round and "chiming" tones, while the bridge pickup delivers the sharp twang and typical projection. With the 3-position selector, you instantly switch from a bright rhythm to a smoother lead, with a very useful middle position for rich and balanced sounds.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original feel, prefer electric strings with a gauge of .009-.042 (nickel). A strap and picks are perfectly suited for stage and rehearsal use.
