A Neo Classic Designed for Fans of "Jazz Bass" Feel
The NJB100RAL-3TS fits into FGN's Neo Classic approach: taking the key elements of vintage basses and adding modern performance-oriented choices. It features familiar ergonomics, meticulous craftsmanship, and simple yet smart electronics, with a series/parallel push-pull that clearly expands the sonic palette without complicating use.
Who Is It For, and Which Styles?
This bass is aimed at intermediate to advanced bassists seeking a reliable, precise, and expressive instrument, equally comfortable in rehearsals, studios, or on stage. It naturally covers funk (attack and articulation), rock (solid low-mids), pop (definition and foundation), and soul (warmth from the neck pickup), while remaining very effective for pick playing.
Sound
The alder body provides a very musical balance: present but clean lows, clear mids, and never harsh highs. The FGN 62J-F (neck) and FGN 62J-R (bridge) pickups allow you to go from a round, enveloping tone to a tighter, punchier "J"-style attack. With 2 volume controls, you can precisely blend the pickups, while the tone control adjusts brightness. The series/parallel push-pull adds a real dimension: in parallel, the sound remains airy and defined; in series, it gains density and perceived volume, ideal for cutting through a busy mix. The rosewood fingerboard slightly softens the attack and promotes a natural grain feel, while the CFS frets craftsmanship contributes to more consistent intonation across the entire neck.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the original feel, a 4-string bass string set in 45-105 gauge (type EXL165) is the most logical replacement. A standard bass strap will also suit daily standing play.

Questions frequently asked
What sounds does the series/parallel push-pull provide?
The parallel wiring delivers an open and defined sound. In series position, the FGN 62J-F and 62J-R pickups offer more density and perceived level in the mix.
Is this FGN bass suitable for funk and rock?
This model adapts well to funk thanks to its articulate attack, as well as to rock with solid low-mids. The two volume controls allow precise blending of the neck and bridge pickups according to the desired tone.
What is the scale length of the NJB100RAL-3TS?
The scale length is 34 inches, or 863.6 mm, the standard size for 4-string electric basses.
What fingerboard and neck profile does this bass have?
The fingerboard is rosewood and the neck features a U-shaped profile. Its 12-inch (304.8 mm) radius and 20 Medium Jumbo CFS frets contribute to consistent intonation along the neck.
Is a gig bag included with the bass?
A gig bag is included. String replacement can be done with a 4-string steel set in .045-.105 gauge, such as the EXL165 model.
