Flight DUC523CEQ Concert Electro-Acoustic Ukulele -

A "Surf" Edition That Defines Its Style Within the Range

With its stained "surf" themed rosette, the DUC523CEQ immediately stands out with an inspired and bright aesthetic, without going over the top. This finish choice gives the instrument a true personality while remaining consistent with the "easy playing" spirit of the ukulele: friendly, portable, and made to be played anywhere. Add to that a solid mahogany top and Flight electronics, and you get a model designed to go beyond a simple backup ukulele, offering a serious foundation for progress and performance.

A Versatile Concert Ukulele, From Living Room to Stage

In concert size, the Flight DUC523CEQ offers an excellent compromise: more playing space and comfort than a soprano, while maintaining the light and intuitive feel that makes the ukulele charming. It is well suited for beginners who want to start with a quality instrument, as well as intermediate musicians looking for a reliable electro-acoustic ukulele, ready to be amplified.

In terms of styles, its natural mahogany warmth works particularly well for acoustic pop, folk, "island" rhythms, vocal accompaniment, as well as more subtle playing with enriched chords. Thanks to the Flight pickup, it becomes a good partner for amplified rehearsals, small-scale performances, and direct recording.

Warm and Resonant Sound Thanks to Mahogany and Careful Finishes

The solid mahogany top is the key element of the sound response: it promotes a soft attack, a present midrange, and an immediate warmth sensation, while allowing a wide range of expression depending on playing intensity. Combined with mahogany back and sides, it enhances overall balance and provides a homogeneous resonance, pleasant both for strumming and picking.

The bone nuts (headstock and saddle) contribute to note precision and better vibration transmission, with cleaner sustain and more stable intonation. The Aquila strings, highly appreciated on ukuleles, complete the setup with a comfortable playing feel and clear sound, while maintaining the round and musical character typical of mahogany.

Finally, the Flight electronics preserve the instrument's identity when amplified, practical if you play in a band or simply want to increase volume without losing the natural character of your concert ukulele.
