The Most Compact in the "The Ones" Series
Part of the "The Ones" monitor family, the 8331A incorporates the signature technologies of its predecessors in the smallest enclosure of the range. Designed to solve space constraints without sacrificing accuracy, it offers a point-source image and controlled dispersion where traditional two-way monitors reach their limits.
Who Is the 8331A For?
Designed for producers, mixers, sound editors, and sound designers working at short to medium listening distances, the 8331A excels in treated home studios, post-production, broadcast, and mobile stations. Its phase coherence and GLM calibration ensure reliable translation across various systems, from stereo to immersive monitoring.
Key Technologies and Advantages
Its 3-way coaxial architecture concentrates midrange and high frequencies at the same emission point for a stable image, even off-axis. The two oval woofers complement the low end while maintaining a clean baffle that limits diffraction. The internal DSP manages filtering, room equalization, and delay management, while the GLM ecosystem facilitates alignment of multiple speakers and profile memory.
- Custom calibration via GLM: acoustic compensation, level and delay alignment, reliable stereo/immersive workflows.
- Controlled directivity waveguide: wide sweet spot and precise imaging in confined environments.
- Aluminum enclosure and ISO-Pod mount: mechanical decoupling and precise placement on the workstation.
- Analog and digital AES/EBU XLR inputs/outputs: easy integration into modern setups.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Genelec 8331 AP suitable for a small home studio?
Its dimensions of 305 x 189 x 212 mm meet the space constraints of compact workstations. The listening is designed for nearfield and midfield, with acoustic calibration available via GLM.
What is the frequency response of the monitor?
The frequency response reaches 45 Hz to 37 kHz at -6 dB, while the linear response is specified from 58 Hz to 20 kHz at +/-1.5 dB.
Can the 8331 AP be connected via AES/EBU?
A digital AES/EBU input is available, in addition to the analog XLR input. The RJ45 connector allows integration into the GLM calibration system.
Why does this Genelec monitor have four loudspeakers?
The three-way design combines two oval woofers, a 3.5-inch midrange, and a 0.75-inch tweeter. The midrange and high frequencies are concentrically aligned to form a point-source image. This design aims for controlled dispersion and improved phase coherence.
What power and sound level are available?
The class D amplifiers total 144 W, divided into 72 W for the woofers, 36 W for the mid-high drivers, and 36 W for the tweeter. The maximum SPL rating is 110 dB at 1 meter.
