Getzen ETERNA 800S BRIGHT SILVER PLATE

The Eterna Series: A Must-Have Range for Lovers of Beautiful Colors

Intended for musicians seeking warm and expressive tones, the Eterna cornets quickly established themselves as a reliable choice thanks to their balance between playing comfort, musicality, and refined finish. This Bb and silver-plated version fits the spirit of the series: offering an instrument with a strong character, capable of delivering a palette of "singing" nuances while remaining reliable for everyday use.

For Which Musicians and Styles?

This Eterna cornet is aimed at advanced amateurs as well as professional musicians looking for a responsive instrument capable of carrying a phrase with elegance. It is particularly suitable for contexts where the cornet must "sing": fanfare, brass band, wind orchestra, variety music, and certain jazz styles (melodic playing, round sound). Thanks to its Bb tuning, it easily integrates into most ensembles and repertoires written for brass instruments.

Sound and Design

With its 11.68 mm bore, this cornet offers a good compromise between ease of sound production and stability: the attack comes out easily, legato remains fluid, and note holding helps to work on intonation in ensemble playing. The two-piece hand-hammered bell promotes a more "lively" sound, with rich harmonics and controlled projection. The brass mouthpiece receiver contributes to a natural response, while the maillechort slides enhance robustness and precision of adjustments. In terms of ergonomics, the ring on the 3rd slide facilitates quick intonation corrections during playing.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

Delivered with a 7C mouthpiece and a "Luxe" suitcase case, this cornet is immediately ready for rehearsals and performances. For routine maintenance, a brass cleaning kit (brushes and cloth) and piston oil are generally suitable for this type of instrument, to keep the slides smooth and the pistons fast.
