Gewa Flat Mandolin Pro Arte Model 1 High Gloss

A "Portuguese" Mandolin with a Strong Character

With its Portuguese shape and flatback, the Pro Arte Model 1 fits within the aesthetic of mandolins designed to offer direct projection and clear articulation. Its choice of solid woods and careful construction make it a model intended for those seeking an expressive instrument, both traditional in spirit and durable over time.

For Which Musician and Styles?

This mandolin is well suited for demanding beginners as well as intermediate players looking to upgrade to a more responsive and nuanced instrument. Its clear and precise temperament adapts to traditional repertoires, rhythmic accompaniments, and melodic lines, with excellent definition for pick playing.

Sound

The solid spruce top provides attack, dynamics, and excellent precision, especially appreciated on double strings. The solid maple back (in 7 pieces) enhances brightness and projection, with a clear high register and quick response. The spruce/maple combination favors a clear, taut, and well-projected sound, ideal for standing out in an ensemble while maintaining beautiful note-by-note definition.
