For decades, the Les Paul Studio has been chosen by guitarists who want the essentials of a Les Paul (mahogany body with maple top, set neck, humbuckers) in a more understated, direct style, designed for playing. The Les Paul Studio Session continues this tradition with a modernized approach: it retains the sonic DNA and construction that have made the Les Paul family famous, while adding comfort refinements and more ambitious electronics aimed at studio, stage, and home studio use.

Who Is It For, and What Styles?

This Les Paul is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a "plug and play" guitar capable of covering many styles without compromising feel. It excels in rock, blues, hard rock, pop, and holds its own in funk and indie thanks to coil tap options and phase combinations. Its SlimTaper neck promotes fast playing, while the contoured heel makes upper-fret runs feel much more natural than one might expect on a traditional single-cut.

The Sound

The acoustic recipe of this Studio Session relies on a classic pairing: mahogany for density, warmth, and "punch" in the mids, and maple for attack, definition, and better note separation. The sculpted figured AA maple top adds clarity that helps chords remain clear even with gain, while retaining the thick, singing character typical of Les Pauls.
On the pickups side, the 57 Classic (neck) emphasizes smooth lows, a velvety midrange, and a top end that is never harsh: ideal for expressive leads, blues, or thick rhythm parts. The 57 Classic Plus (bridge) adds more drive and attack for riffs, crunchy tones, and solos that need to cut through the mix. With the 3-position selector and two independent volume controls, you can precisely blend the amount of each pickup, from warm roundness to sharp bite.
The electronics clearly expand the palette: the coil tap on each volume knob provides more airy and snappy textures, useful for more "open" rhythm parts. The phase reversal on the tones (in the middle position) delivers thinner, scooped sounds, very effective for fitting into dense arrangements. Finally, the Pure Bypass sends the bridge pickup directly to the output for an ultra-short signal path, offering a more immediate response and a "raw" feel perfect when you want to attack hard without filters.

To fully enjoy it, plan on a high-quality 6.35 mm instrument jack cable (essential both in the studio and rehearsals) and a tuner (pedal or clip-on) to take advantage of the tuning stability provided by the hardware. The guitar comes with a Soft Shell Case, convenient for transport and sessions.
