A Head Designed as the "Neutral Core" of the GR BASS Ecosystem
The GR BASS Pure AMP follows the brand's "Pure Sound" philosophy: offering amplification that fades into the background to let the source (instrument, preamp, pedalboard, processor) express itself. While many heads already color the signal through their preamp and EQ, the Pure AMP aims for a more direct approach: you shape the sound upstream, and this head faithfully drives it to your cabinet and/or mixing console.
Who Is the GR BASS Pure AMP For?
This head is tailored for bassists who already have "their sound": users of rack preamps, pedal-format preamps, multi-effects, or active basses with full electronics. In rehearsal, it simplifies logistics (no need for a separate power amp); on stage, it offers a compact and reliable solution to power one or two cabinets; in the studio, its clean reproduction and controllable output level facilitate recording and mix coherence. And although designed for electric bass, it can also surprise with an upright bass (via suitable preamp), an amplified acoustic guitar, or a synth, as long as the sound shaping is done upstream.
Controls, Connectivity, and Details Designed for the Pedalboard
The Pure AMP goes straight to the essentials: no onboard EQ, aiming to preserve the work done by your external chain. On the front panel, you find immediate ergonomics with a power indicator and Gain and Master volume controls for each input, allowing precise balancing of two sources or two signal paths. At the rear, the D.I. output with Pre/Post switch sends a signal suitable for the front of house, even if your preamp doesn't have a dedicated D.I. The GND Lift switch helps reduce hum caused by ground loops in certain environments (stages, complex electrical installations). Finally, the DC 9 V / 300 mA output can power a small auxiliary pedalboard, handy for further lightening your setup.
"Hi-fi" Sound, Fast and Dynamic: Your Sound, Without Filters
The GR BASS Pure AMP is a transistor head (Class D technology) focused on fidelity: sharp attack, well-controlled lows, excellent clarity in the low mids, and an immediate response under the fingers. In short, it does not seek to add "natural" compression or tube-like coloration: the clean remains open, slap retains its precision, and saturations/overdrives keep their texture as shaped by your preamp. The result: plenty of headroom, a feeling of "easy" power, and an ideal platform for those wanting consistent sound from one cabinet to another and from one venue to the next.

Questions frequently asked
What power does the GR Bass Pure Amp 700X2 BLK deliver?
The stated power is 2 x 350 W RMS at 8 ohms, totaling 700 W. This setup allows powering two compatible speaker cabinets.
Can a preamp or pedalboard be used with this bass head?
The absence of built-in EQ preserves the tonal shaping done by an external preamp, multi-effects, or pedalboard. Two channels each have Gain and Master volume controls to balance two sources or signal paths.
Does the DI output have a Pre/Post switch?
A DI output with a Pre/Post selector is included to adapt the signal sent to the mixing console. A GND Lift switch helps reduce hum caused by certain ground loops.
What sound does this Class D head without EQ offer?
Its Class D transistor amplification is designed for a neutral sound reproduction, with a tight attack and controlled lows. Distortions and overdrives created upstream retain their original texture.
Can it power 9 V pedals?
A 9 V DC output at 300 mA is provided to power a small pedalboard, such as a tuner. Weighing 2.7 kg with a black steel finish, the unit remains suitable for a compact setup format.
