Two Years of Development: The RAM Range as Heritage Audio's New Benchmark
With the Reference Audio Monitoring (RAM) series, Heritage Audio formalizes a "reference monitoring" approach inspired by audiophile systems but designed for real studio environments: different control room sizes, various budgets, and above all a constant need for transparency and repeatability. Announced as the result of two years of intensive R&D at the brand's headquarters, the range shares a common philosophy and technology, from the RAM 500 system to the most complete RAM System 5000, here offered with an architecture ready for 5.1.
Who the RAM System 5000 Is For and How to Use It in the Studio
The RAM System 5000 targets studios that want a single monitoring control center capable of managing multiple sources, several pairs of speakers, and a music or post-production workflow. In stereo, it becomes a premium monitor controller to quickly switch between different listening setups and secure decisions on balance, EQ, and dynamics. In surround, it naturally integrates into a 5.1 mix-oriented control room, with dedicated functions (Mute/Solo per channel) that facilitate calibration, compatibility checks, and troubleshooting of an issue on a channel.
Its "reference" approach is also particularly relevant for environments where consistency is paramount: multi-engineer studios, mix rooms with frequent session recalls, or installations where you want to avoid level and tonal variations linked to more basic monitoring controllers.
