"Console Spirit" Monitoring Control Inspired by Analog Monitoring Sections
The Baby Ram follows the tradition of classic European consoles, adopting the approach of the best analog monitoring sections: simple, direct, and reliable control focused on audio path quality. Here, no active circuitry, no imposed coloration, no compromise related to power supply or internal amplification stage: the concept is based on a passive design intended to best preserve the signal coming from your audio interface, converter, or summing mixer.
This "less but better" philosophy aims for a clear goal: to allow you to judge your mixing decisions with coherent monitoring, maintaining a natural sense of dynamics and frequency balance. The result is a monitoring tool that is both discreet and decisive, capable of integrating into a demanding studio chain without altering its sonic identity.
For Whom and What Studio Uses?
The Baby Ram is aimed at carefully equipped home studios as well as professional studios seeking an efficient stereo monitoring controller without unnecessary complexity. It is especially suitable if you want to secure your listening levels and improve your working comfort while preserving the signature of your converters and speakers.
During recording, the MUTE control facilitates take management (instant silence of monitors to avoid microphone bleed). In mixing, DIM allows quick level reduction without losing your main setting, and MONO helps check mono compatibility, center/left/right balance, and the stability of essential elements (vocals, snare, bass) at the core of the image.
With its two stereo inputs and two stereo outputs, it also becomes a practical central point to compare multiple sources (interface, player, alternative output) or switch between two monitoring systems (main and secondary monitors), depending on your studio setup.

Questions frequently asked
Does the Baby Ram require a power supply?
The fully passive design does not require any power supply. The audio path contains no active circuitry or internal amplification stage.
What connections are available to connect an interface and two pairs of speakers?
Two stereo inputs and two stereo outputs are available on gold-plated 6.35 mm TRS jacks. The connections are balanced without ground and remain compatible with unbalanced wiring. This setup allows connecting an audio interface and switching between two monitoring systems.
Does the volume control maintain stereo balance accurately?
The 24-position rotary switch ensures left/right tracking accuracy better than 0.1 dB at each attenuation step. Listening levels can thus be recalled to fixed positions.
Are Mute, Dim, and Mono functions included?
The MUTE, DIM, and MONO controls mute the audio, quickly reduce the level, or allow mono monitoring.
Can two sources or two pairs of monitors be compared with the Heritage Audio Baby Ram?
Routing is based on two stereo inputs and two stereo outputs. It is therefore possible to select multiple sources or monitoring systems according to the studio setup.
