An "Alsatian" harmonica crafted for tradition and ensemble playing

The ECHO CINTRÉ fits within the spirit of popular harmonicas used for traditional repertoires, where a generous sound presence and an immediately recognizable tone are paramount. Its distinctive feature is its octave tuning, achieved by a double row of reeds: each note is doubled, which thickens the timbre and creates a broad sound impression much appreciated in dance music and regional tunes. The cintré shape, combined with the "Alsatian model" designation, reinforces this distinctive character, both visually and musically.

For whom and for which styles?

This harmonica is especially aimed at musicians drawn to traditional music and contexts where the harmonica must "fill the space": events, balls, acoustic ensembles, light brass bands, or harmonica groups. It is also suitable for players already performing in groups who want an instrument capable of blending in while maintaining a strong sonic identity. Thanks to its octave-doubled notes principle, it is also relevant for multi-voice arrangements where harmonic support and a solid sonic foundation are sought rather than a highly soloistic and precise output.

Sound and design: octave for breadth, cintré for character

The double row of reeds tuned in octaves aims for a thicker and more enveloping sound than a single-row harmonica. The result is a full timbre with a sense of depth that highlights melodies and counter-melodies, especially in traditional repertoires. In ensemble playing, this richness facilitates section homogeneity: the instrument adds body without requiring a forced attack, and the projection remains natural to carry the musical line. The cintré shape, meanwhile, contributes to the feel: it provides a strong aesthetic identity and can aid in a "vintage" grip, typical of models dedicated to regional music.

Diatonic or chromatic

Two main families are generally distinguished: the diatonic harmonica, designed around a main key (highly appreciated in blues, folk, traditional music), and the chromatic harmonica, which provides access to all notes via a mechanism and is often used in jazz or classical music. The ECHO CINTRÉ is a diatonic harmonica tuned in octaves: its double row principle primarily targets a broad and distinctive sound color, ideal for traditional melodies and ensemble playing.
