Advanced Acoustic: a new approach to acoustics according to Ibanez

With the Advanced Acoustic series, Ibanez rethinks the balance between power, precision, and ergonomics. The AAM54CE-OPN embodies this philosophy with an optimized body design, specific work on the structure (X-M bracing), and the addition of the A.I.R. port, designed to enrich the guitarist's perception of sound. The result: a modern electro-acoustic guitar, designed to offer a broader and more responsive experience than a traditional dreadnought, while remaining comfortable during long sessions.

For whom, and in which styles?

Thanks to its auditorium format and cutaway, this Ibanez targets both intermediate guitarists and advanced musicians seeking a versatile electro-acoustic. It is very suitable for strumming (pop/folk), dynamic pick playing, and remains precise in arpeggios and fingerstyle. On stage, the integrated electronics facilitate quick changes and essential adjustments without multiplying peripherals.

Sound

The solid sapele top delivers a direct response, with an articulated midrange and controlled brightness: ideal for standing out in a mix. The back and sapele sides enhance sonic coherence, with a warm grain and even projection. The Advanced Auditorium format combined with the X-M bracing promotes wide dynamics and good note sustain, while maintaining a pleasant balance between bass, mids, and treble.

Plugged in, the guitar relies on an Ibanez T-bar under-saddle pickup, known for its definition and crisp attack. The AEQ-TP2 preamp (with built-in tuner) allows quick adjustment of volume and tone, convenient for switching from powerful rhythmic playing to more nuanced passages. The A.I.R. port contributes to a more immersive playing sensation, particularly useful in acoustic accompaniment.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original feel and balance, you can stick with the .012/.016/.024/.032/.042/.053 gauge (recommended D'Addario EXP16 strings). For transport, the recommended IAB540-BK gig bag is the preferred option. Since the electronics require a 9V battery, having a spare battery on hand is advised to avoid any interruptions during rehearsals or on stage.
