This JS2450 continues the lineage of Joe Satriani signature guitars, with a resolutely focused approach on playability and soloing freedom. The adoption of a 24-fret format marks a significant evolution in the JS spirit, while retaining the series' DNA: comfort, precision, and immediate response under the fingers, here supported by a DiMarzio pickup configuration tailored for stage and studio.

The Ibanez JS2450 is primarily aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a high-performance electric for lead, instrumental rock, hard rock, and fusion genres. Its ergonomics, high-level vibrato, and switching options also make it an excellent base for musicians who need to switch from a thick, singing tone to more biting textures without changing guitars.
The Sound
The alder body provides a very musical balance: present mids, clean lows, and clear highs, perfect for a sound that "cuts through" without becoming harsh. The 3-piece maple/bubinga neck enhances stability and promotes generous sustain, ideal for held notes and expressive vibratos. On pickups, the DiMarzio Satch Track in the neck position delivers a precise and articulate output for fluid leads, while the DiMarzio Mo' Joe at the bridge offers a powerful and rich humbucker with great pick attack dynamics. The high-pass filter on the volume helps maintain clarity when lowering the level, and the coil tap via push/pull on the tone control multiplies tonal variations on both pickups.

The guitar comes with a hard case and an Ultralite Tremolo Arm. To stay as close as possible to the original setup, you can use D'Addario EXL120 strings, taking advantage of the indicated gauge (.009/.011/.016/.024/.032/.042) and factory tuning (1E,2B,3G,4D,5A,6E).
