This 5-string is aimed at intermediate to advanced bassists who want access to the extended low B range while maintaining a smooth feel. It excels in modern rock, metal, funk, gospel, pop, and fusion: the fast neck facilitates fingerstyle and pick playing, and the active electronics allow precise sculpting of the low end both on stage and in the studio.

The Sound

The Nyatoh body provides a warm and dense foundation, with present lows and a solid low-midrange, ideal for a 5-string. The two PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups deliver a powerful and defined signal: clear attacks, firm lows, and articulation that remains clear even in heavy tunings. The 3-way Power Tap expands the palette by varying the pickups' character (from thicker, modern tones to more open and snappy textures). Finally, the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ allows quick adjustment of punch (Bass), presence (Middle), and brightness (Treble) to find your place in any mix.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

For transport, the manufacturer recommends the following references: MRB500C case and IBB540-BK gig bag. The bass requires 1 x 9V battery for the active electronics. The original string gauge is .045/.065/.085/.105/.130 (set: D'Addario EXL165 + .130), convenient if you want to keep the factory feel and setup balance.
