Essential Information About the Jackson X Series Surfcaster SC HT6 Laurel Satin Black Guitar

  • Revisited Surfcaster Look: satin black finish, black hardware, and 3-ply Black/White/Black pickguard for a sleek and aggressive style.

  • Modern Playing Comfort: bolt-on maple neck with graphite reinforcements and 12"-16" compound radius ideal for rhythm and lead playing.

  • 24 Jumbo Frets: easy access to the high notes and "speed" feel for fast licks and solo playing.

  • High Gain Reserve: two Jackson High-Output humbuckers and simple electronics (volume + tone) for straightforward control.

A Surfcaster in the X Series Range: The Jackson Spirit, Accessible and Stage-Ready

With the X Series, Jackson offers performance-oriented instruments designed to deliver fast playability, modern ergonomics, and a strong visual identity. This Surfcaster SC HT6 embodies this philosophy with an original shape, a responsive bolt-on neck setup, and deliberately efficient equipment: high-output humbuckers, minimalist controls, and a fixed bridge for tuning stability.

Who Is It For, and What Styles?

The Jackson X Series Surfcaster SC HT6 is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a reliable, lively electric guitar that's easy to set up. It excels in rock, punk, hard rock, and metal but remains comfortable whenever a powerful and precise sound is needed. The compound radius and 24 jumbo frets clearly favor lead playing (bends, legato, shred), while maintaining a solid foundation for tight riffs.

Sound

Its poplar body delivers a balanced and direct tone with a sharp attack and good definition, perfect for clear saturated sounds. The maple neck enhances clarity and responsiveness, while the laurel fingerboard slightly rounds off the high end for a pleasant feel. The HH configuration with two Jackson High-Output humbuckers maximizes gain: solid lows, present mids to cut through the mix, and sufficiently incisive highs for harmonics. The 3-position selector allows switching from the sharpness of the bridge pickup to warmer tones on the neck pickup, with a versatile middle position. The Hardtail fixed bridge promotes stability, sustain, and excellent palm-mute retention.
