This pedal is suitable both for beginner guitarists who want to switch between two amps and for experienced musicians building a stereo rig, a "dry + reverb/delay" setup (wet/dry), or two separate effects chains (for example, a clean channel and a distorted channel). It is particularly useful live to secure a plan B (backup amp, second console input) and in the studio to record simultaneously to two destinations (amp + interface, or two amps with different characters).

Important point: the Active A/B/Y is designed for input signals under 10 V gain. Above this, unintended clipping may occur. It is also not recommended for use with a bass guitar, according to product guidelines.

One output is transformer-isolated to limit ground loops between two amps. Both outputs are isolated from each other, which reduces noise caused by differing grounds.
