The DV design incorporates a patented secondary window intended to enrich harmonics, especially in the mid and low registers, to achieve a more authoritative sound than a classic tenor mouthpiece. Its long, slightly high straight baffle promotes strong projection, a clear attack, and a more stable altissimo. The gold-plated brass ring adds mass to the shank, contributing to stability, body of sound, and harmonic enhancement, while also providing a distinctive aesthetic.
