The Volca NuBass is aimed at musicians from beginners to advanced who want to create expressive bass lines without complex programming. It excels in electro, techno, acid house, dance, synthwave, but also finds its place in the studio to double a bass, add a sub that "pushes," or add tube warmth to a mix. In live performance, its sequencer and automations make loops evolving and very musical.

Its analog VTO oscillator integrates a Nutube tube, with a second triode assigned to the sub-oscillator. Sawtooth and square waves are available, while the sub adds a lower octave.
Can acid basslines be created with this synth?
The transistor ladder low-pass VCF filter allows resonance sweeps suitable for acid lines. An analog overdrive affects signal compression, distortion, and brightness.
How many steps and patterns are available?
The sequencer has 16 steps and accepts real-time or step recording. Sixteen patterns can be stored, with slots 1 to 10 containing factory presets. The Chain function enables pattern chaining and the Motion Sequence records knob movements.
What MIDI and synchronization connectivity is provided?
A DIN-format MIDI input allows control from external MIDI equipment. Sync In, CV In, and CV Out jacks are also provided, along with a stereo 3.5 mm mini-jack headphone/line output.
Can the Volca NuBass operate on batteries?
This model runs on 6 AAA batteries for an estimated 8-hour autonomy, or with the optional Korg KA-350 adapter (reference 163295).
