A Lehle Volume Pedal Designed to Last, in an Optimized Format

The Lehle Mono Volume S adopts the brand's "zero compromise" approach: a volume pedal without friction, without crackling, and especially without the typical limitations of potentiometer-based systems. Here, your foot only moves a magnet; a Hall effect sensor measures the position with great precision, then an ARM Cortex processor applies a musical curve to control an analog VCA. The result: smooth and stable control while maintaining an analog signal from start to finish.

Compared to the larger model in the range, the Mono Volume S focuses on a lighter and more compact format without sacrificing durability or travel range. It's a true modern pedalboard solution: less bulk, but the same feel of control and the same sonic standards.

Who Is the Lehle Mono Volume S For?

This pedal is aimed at guitarists and bassists who want expressive volume control without altering their tone: clean swells, live level management, fine-tuning an amp's input gain, or balancing multiple instruments. It suits both demanding studio musicians (where silent operation and stability are essential) and stage setups seeking a reliable, precise, and quick-to-adjust pedal.

From blues to rock, including ambient styles (swells with pick or finger), the Mono Volume S quickly becomes a natural extension of playing: it allows sculpting intensity without losing the instrument's character, even at low volume.

Controls, Boost, Connectivity: A Volume Pedal with a "Pro" Spirit

The Lehle Mono Volume S combines audiophile choices with modern ergonomics. Its circuit includes a class A preamplifier that highlights nuances, while the internal electronics stabilize the power supply (input 9 to 15 V) to generate a higher operating voltage, responsible for its wide dynamic range. With constant input and output impedance, you avoid the "high-frequency loss" effect found in some traditional volume pedals.

Practically, the pedal features a second buffered direct output: ideal for powering a tuner, sending a signal to an interface/DAW, or driving a second amp without degrading the sound. Finally, the built-in boost goes beyond simple 0-100 control: you can add level up to +12 dB in toe position, with accessible presets (0 dB, +5 dB, +10 dB, plus a specific P4 mode).

The USB-C port is used to calibrate, program, and update the pedal, and also allows sending MIDI data via USB: perfect for controlling or automating parameters in a production environment or hybrid setup.

Sound

The Mono Volume S is designed to stay faithful to the source: the spectrum is transmitted throughout the travel, without high-frequency roll-off and with a very comfortable dynamic reserve. Foot control is progressive, responsive, and precise enough to dial volume "to the millimeter": equally convincing for smooth swells or sharp boosts at the end of travel.

The class A preamp delivers a lively reproduction and better detail clarity, especially on attacks and playing nuances. Whether clean or with already saturated sounds (overdrive, fuzz, delays, reverbs), the pedal remains stable and clean: it gives the feeling that the volume is "in your hand" rather than simply reduced.
