Summary of This Method

Designed for Level 1 students, this method offers a clear and reassuring path to develop the basics of music reading. The dual objective is to progressively recognize notes in treble clef and integrate the main rhythms through a lively approach focused on singing and instrumental practice. By relying on nursery rhymes, learning becomes immediately concrete: the student reads, sings, plays, and memorizes more naturally while working on ear training, intonation, pulse, and coordination.

The method is particularly well suited for group work. It can be used in workshops (whole class), small groups, or individual lessons, depending on the school's organization. The interpretation options on xylophone and flute (or any C instrument) allow easy adaptation of the content to the available instrumental resources, while maintaining a common logic of reading in treble clef. To reinforce autonomy and rhythmic implementation, an accompaniment CD is available as an option.

The content covers essential pieces from the children's and folk repertoire, perfect for establishing solid reference points: Happy Birthday, A la volette, Le curé de Terrebonne, Je suis un musicien, Amazing Grace, Ah! si mon moine!, La bonne aventure, Maman les p'tits bateaux, Ah! vous dirai-je Maman!, Frère Jacques, As-tu compté les étoiles?, J'ai perdu le do de ma clarinette, Do ré mi, La leçon de solfège, Polichinelle, Bach's Chorale. A varied selection that maintains attention and allows work on dynamics, articulation, and phrasing, while consolidating the fundamentals of music education.
