A "studio" capsule designed for the demands of live and wireless use
The Lewitt MTP W950 was created to meet a very specific need: to retain the definition and openness of a condenser microphone on a noisy stage without compromising the mix's stability. Its detachable 1-inch capsule facilitates integration with compatible handheld transmitters while allowing classic XLR use. Sound engineers tested it under professional conditions before its release, aiming for consistent performance regardless of the venue.
For which voices and uses?
This microphone is intended for singers, backing vocalists, presenters, and technicians who want to improve intelligibility, precision, and presence, whether in concert, rehearsal, or recording. It is especially suitable for stages with high monitor levels, setups where feedback management is critical, and artists who tend to "cup" the grille: the MTP W950 is designed to maintain tonal balance even with a tight grip.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Lewitt MTP W950 compatible with a wireless transmitter?
Its detachable 1-inch capsule is compatible without an adapter with most handheld transmitters from Shure, Lectrosonics, Sony, Line6 XD-V55/XD-V75, and Mipro ACT. For most Sennheiser systems with interchangeable heads, an Ambient HHA adapter is required.
Cardioid or supercardioid: which setting is available?
Two switchable polar patterns are offered: cardioid and supercardioid. Cardioid provides more placement tolerance, while supercardioid enhances focus and side rejection.
Is a 48 V phantom power supply required?
A 48 V ± 4 V phantom power supply is necessary, with a consumption of 7.5 mA. The externally polarized condenser capsule operates via XLR connection.
Are the high-pass filter and pad integrated?
A 120 Hz high-pass filter is available to reduce stage vibrations, handling noise, and excess proximity effect. A -12 dB pad helps preserve preamp headroom with strong vocals or very close miking.
What maximum sound pressure level can this vocal microphone handle?
The 25.4 mm capsule handles up to 140 dB SPL at 0.5% harmonic distortion. Its dynamic range is 119 dB(A) and its sensitivity reaches 8.1 mV/Pa.
