The Line 6 EX2 is aimed at guitarists and bassists who want to take back control over their effects in real time, without being limited to fixed settings. In rock and blues, it becomes an expressive tool to transition from crunch to a denser lead by gradually opening a drive or boost parameter. In metal and prog, it facilitates sharp transitions (toe switch) and controlled build-ups (delay mix, modulation depth, filter, pitch). In ambient and post-rock, it is a formidable creative lever to evolve a soundscape: opening a filter, increasing reverb, raising shimmer, or continuously transforming a texture.
Live, the EX2 helps you stay focused on playing: you modulate an effect without letting go of the neck, and you can trigger a function with the toe switch without aiming for a separate footswitch. The EX2 combines an expression pedal and an assignable toe switch. Depending on your gear, you can wire it simply or more modularly thanks to its dedicated outputs: one output for the pedal and toe switch part, and a separate output for the toe switch. Result: you choose between a connection with a single TRS cable (convenient and fast), or a setup with two TS 6.35mm Jack cables (useful when your setup requires separating expression and switching).
The feel underfoot matters as much as the connectivity: the EX2 features an adjustable tension bolt to adapt the treadle resistance to your style. Softer for quick swells like volume pedals, or firmer for precise adjustments (pitch, filter, mix): you customize the response to gain precision and comfort, especially during long sessions or concerts with rapid song changes.
