An Onyx Continuing the Tradition of "Ready for Anything" Consoles
The Mackie Onyx 24 follows the spirit of the Onyx series consoles: a straightforward analog approach designed for speed, while offering modern recording and playback features. It combines a reassuring mixing surface (faders, dedicated controls, inserts) with tools tailored to current needs: USB multitrack capture, SD card recorder, and effect management via screen.
Who Is the Mackie Onyx 24 For, and What Are Its Use Cases?
This console is aimed at bands, front-of-house engineers, associations, places of worship, as well as content creators and musicians who want a simple-to-operate control room capable of managing the stage and recording without multiplying devices. In concert, you benefit from a true analog console with Aux sends and an internal multi-effect. In the studio, the USB interface allows you to retrieve tracks for mixing, while the SD card facilitates recording a backup or rehearsal stereo mix.

How many microphones can be connected to this mixer?
The input section includes 18 mic preamps and 18 XLR inputs with phantom power. It is therefore suitable for a band setup, stage control room, or recording with multiple microphone sources.
Can the Onyx 24 record directly onto an SD card?
Stereo recording can be done directly onto an SD card, using dedicated record and playback controls around the OLED screen. This feature allows saving rehearsal mixes or concert backups without a computer. Playback of music files from the SD card is also supported.
What equalization and effects settings are available?
Each channel features a 3-band EQ with semi-parametric midrange depending on the channel, complemented by the Perkins 'British Style' equalizer. The internal multi-effect is adjustable via the OLED screen and can store up to 6 user presets.
Does the mixer have Bluetooth and monitor outputs?
Bluetooth playback feeds a channel equipped with volume, pan, 2 Aux sends, Mute, and Solo. Three auxiliary sends are available, while the main L/R outputs come in both XLR and balanced 6.35 mm jack.
