A controller designed to exploit the full versatility of the EVO 1 head

The MB Evo 1 Controller is designed as the natural extension of the Markbass EVO 1 head: instead of juggling multiple manual adjustments on the amp, you centralize the essentials at your feet. The idea is simple: make channel switching, reverb activation, and boost access as immediate as an effects pedal, while preserving the sound and dynamics unique to Markbass amplification.

In the spirit of modern rigs, this type of control pedal quickly becomes indispensable once you use more than one sound on stage: one channel for grit and presence, another for a rounder base tone, two reverbs to vary atmospheres, and a boost to stand out at the right moment.

For which bassists and in what contexts?

This pedalboard is aimed at bassists who want to chain clean and reproducible sound changes, whether you play in a cover band, pop, rock, funk, gospel, metal, or contemporary music. If you switch from fingerstyle to pick playing, from a very defined sound to a more enveloping tone, or if you use atmospheres on certain parts, foot control smooths out the entire set.

In live situations, it prevents rushed adjustments between songs: you keep your hands on the bass, your eyes on the band, and trigger exactly what you need. In studio or rehearsal, it also allows quick comparison of two channels, validation of a boost level for a passage, or activation of a specific reverb without interrupting the take.

Foot controls: direct, logical, and efficient access

The MB Evo 1 Controller offers 5 clearly assigned switches, designed to be used instinctively in real situations. The CH1 and CH2 switches allow instant selection of the desired channel on the head, convenient for switching from a basic sound to a more worked or present tone according to your amp settings.

The REV1 and REV2 switches each activate or deactivate their respective reverb (on/off), facilitating management of two distinct atmospheres: a subtle reverb to add air, and a more pronounced one for intros, bridges, or more atmospheric passages.

The Boost switch highlights your lines during a solo, break, or intensity change. For ultra-practical stage use, the tuner with MUTE function is accessible by holding the Boost switch : you cut the signal and tune silently, without an additional pedal on the pedalboard.

Sound

The MB Evo 1 Controller adds no coloration and does not alter your signal: it is a foot controller that operates the functions of the EVO 1 head. The perceived "sound" therefore depends entirely on your amp settings (channels, reverbs, boost) and your playing. The musical benefit lies elsewhere: clean transitions, more expressive atmosphere management, and comfort that helps you stay focused on groove, precision, and timing.
