A "Standard" Model Designed for Balance and Musicality
The MC-98C fits within the spirit of Martinez's Standard range: offering a well-crafted classical guitar that is pleasant to play and oriented towards a balanced sound output. Its glossy Natural finish highlights the wood species and provides a sober aesthetic, suitable both for study and stage performance.
For Which Musician and Styles?
Thanks to its 4/4 size, the Martinez Standard MC-98C is particularly suited for teenagers and adults, from the serious beginner to the intermediate player seeking a responsive and expressive guitar. It naturally lends itself to the classical repertoire, as well as fingerstyle, bossa nova, and gentle accompaniments where nuance and a singing tone are desired.
Sound Characteristics
The cedar top is appreciated for its immediate response and warm tone: notes "speak" quickly, with a rich midrange, ideal for arpeggios, dynamic playing, and melodies. The bocote back and sides contribute to a stronger projection and better clarity, adding presence in the bass and fine definition across the spectrum. The result: a classical guitar with a rounded character but enough precision to maintain clear chords and pleasant sustain.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To make the most of this classical guitar, a set of nylon strings for full-size classical guitar 4/4 is perfectly suited (standard scale length). The included gig bag already facilitates transport and protects the instrument from everyday minor impacts.
