What 6034 Ultimate Multi-band Native v7 is For
6034 Ultimate Multi-band Native v7 is a multiband dynamics plug-in designed to sculpt a mix with precision without sacrificing musicality. Thanks to its 4 frequency bands, it allows separate control of bass, low-mid, high-mid, and treble to tame an overpowering bass, smooth a vocal, control aggressive transients, or thicken a bus (drums, guitars, synths) in a targeted way. It is suitable for mixing, sound design, and light mastering, whenever fine control by frequency zone is more relevant than broadband compression.
Main Features
A complete multiband processor: compression, expansion, and gate
At the core of the 6034, you will find a selection of dynamics modules (compression, expansion, gating) inherited from the 6050 Ultimate Channel Strip. The benefit is immediate: you adapt the behavior of each band to your goal, for example, compression on the low-mids to stabilize, expansion on the highs to restore air, or a gate on a targeted band to clean resonances and unwanted noise, all within a single multiband interface.
Configurable 4-band crossover
The plug-in includes a configurable 4-band crossover network with several filter slope options. You can choose a gentler separation to preserve coherence or a steeper slope to isolate a problematic area with greater precision. This setting directly affects the transparency and effectiveness of the processing, especially on complex sources (drums, mix bus, polyphonic instruments).
Instant audition of modules and level adjustments
The 6034 promotes an efficient workflow through real-time module auditioning, ideal for quickly comparing different dynamic approaches without breaking creative momentum. The Input/Output controls facilitate gain staging and A/B comparison by maintaining a consistent perceived level to judge the processing by ear rather than volume.
Color and precision: analog saturation, double precision, ultra-low latency
To go beyond dynamic control, 6034 Ultimate Multi-band Native v7 offers analog saturation modeling, useful for thickening a source, enhancing presence, or adding slight density on a bus. The double precision processing aims for detailed reproduction, while the ultra-low latency integrates easily into demanding sessions, including production contexts where responsiveness is critical.

Questions frequently asked
Does the McDSP 6034 Ultimate MB Native feature four adjustable bands?
The crossover network offers 4 parametric frequency bands: bass, low-mid, high-mid, and treble. Several filter slopes allow adapting the separation between the bands.
Is it possible to use a gate on a single frequency range?
Each band can host a compression, expansion, or gate module from the 6050 Ultimate Channel Strip. A targeted gate can thus clean resonances or noises in a specific frequency area.
Is this plug-in suitable for processing a drum bus?
The multiband processing allows thickening a drum bus by controlling its 4 frequency zones separately. Analog saturation settings can also enhance the sonic density.
What is the Mac and Windows compatibility?
On Mac, compatibility covers macOS 10.13 High Sierra to macOS 14 Sonoma; macOS 10.12 Sierra may work without official support. On Windows, Windows 10 is specified.
Is the latency suitable for a production session?
Ultra-low latency is announced, with double-precision processing. Input and Output controls facilitate gain staging and level comparisons.
